We use a KORG D1600 digital audio workstation (DAW) with lots of built-in effects and capabilities. In addition, we apply outboard effects as necessary – depending on the sound you want.
Another difference is having an experienced engineer helping with microphone set up, double tracking , blending sounds, adjusting EQ and recording levels. Many home recordings get just the very basic sounds on tape/CD, whereas our studio will give you a finished product you will want to listen to again and again.
The benefit of having someone else taking care of the technical details is that you can focus on delivering your best performance without worrying about the recording process itself.
