MUSIC LESSONS
- Instructional lessons are 30
minutes each.
- Please be considerate of other
students and arrive
on time for your lesson.
- You must give 24 hours notice
if you are going to miss a lesson.
If you give less than 24 hours notice or no notice at
all,
the cost of the lesson is forfeited .
- Please make sure you bring your
music folder or music
book(s) to each lesson.
- To maximize musical instruction
time, tune your instrument before
the lesson starts in the Lobby area.
-
In order to get the most benefit
from musical instruction, you
should practice at least once per day even if for
only 15 minutes.
PRACTICE
GUIDELINES
- You should try to practice every
day if only for 15 minutes.
- Make sure you are in tune before
you begin playing.
- Warm up before practice-stretch
your fingers and play something easy.
- Practice some strength and left
hand mechanics exercises each time you play.
- Play something easy at first
to help you build up confidence,
then take on the new material or more difficult lessons.
- Do not play if your fingers,
wrists or hands hurt.
Stop and take a few minutes break.
- Do not let yourself get frustrated
if you are not learning a lesson fast enough. Remember
that you must make mistakes in order to learn.
- Go slowly. Take your time to
learn slowly then speed up as you
master the material.
- If you do get frustrated and
make a lot of mistakes, realize it just might not be
a good time to play right then. It's ok. Don't force
it. Put down your
guitar and pick it up later.
- Be creative and experiment.
After you practice your lesson,
don't stop there. Try something new!
- The more you play, the more
you learn.
- Most
importantly……have
fun
